‘Healthy Eating Habits’ Experience Center Established in Busan … Song Jin-seon, Education Officer at Busan Office of Education, Receives ‘Food Life Education Award’
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Trainee Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Jinsun Song, a superintendent who has been carrying out educational administration to foster proper eating habits, was recognized for her contributions.
Busan Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 15th that Jinsun Song from the Office of School Life Education received the Grand Prize at the '2021 Korea Food Life Education Awards.'
The Food Life Education Award is given to individuals and organizations that have promoted public health, fostered a proper food culture, and widely raised awareness of the importance of food life education, to commend and encourage their efforts.
The award is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, and the Food Life Education National Network, and is organized by the Korean Society of Food Life Education.
Superintendent Song, who received the grand prize, proposed the establishment of an experiential center for students to develop proper eating habits, contributing to the creation of the nation's first Busan Nutrition Education Experience Center.
She was also highly evaluated for her contributions to improving eating habits and food life through experiential food life education programs such as the vegetable garden experience program and a 2-day, 1-night nutrition camp.
Superintendent Song was recognized for her efforts toward innovative food life education by contributing to the establishment of an online nutrition diagnosis and counseling platform, operating pilot schools with alternative menus for food allergies in school meals, hosting school meal table competitions, and running the YouTube channel ‘School Meal Class.’
