'2021 Pohang Earthquake International Forum' Held Over Two Days
The 2021 Pohang Earthquake International Forum will be held for two days starting from the 15th at the POSCO International Hall.

The forum, held until the 16th, was attended by Lee Kang-deok, Mayor of Pohang, Jeong Hae-jong, Chairman of the Pohang City Council, Lee Dae-gong, Gong Won-sik, and Heo Sang-ho, co-chairmen of the 11.15 Triggered Earthquake Citizens' Countermeasures Committee, prominent domestic and international scholars in the fields of earthquakes and geology, as well as general citizens.
The Pohang earthquake that occurred in 2017 had a magnitude of 5.4, causing many casualties and property damage exceeding 80 billion won.
This forum was held to reaffirm Pohang's determination to overcome the damage and pain caused by the earthquake and to become a model city for disaster response, aiming for a new leap forward.
Six domestic and international experts presented the latest research results on induced earthquakes, and a trauma healing booth was operated to soothe the wounds of Pohang citizens.
Commendations were awarded to citizens who contributed to earthquake response, and events such as an earthquake recovery photo exhibition and talk concerts were held to emphasize the meaning of overcoming earthquake damage together with the citizens.
