On the 14th, Candidate Yoon will watch the first game of the Korean Series professional baseball at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. This attendance is interpreted as an attempt to approach the 2030 generation, whose approval ratings are low, in a friendly manner. The first pitch will be thrown by actor Oh Young-soo, who appeared in the Netflix original series "Squid Game."
Prior to this, on the 13th, Candidate Yoon welcomed the People Power Party's bill proposal to lower the eligibility age for members of the National Assembly, local government heads, and local council members, stating, "If I become president, I will consider lowering the presidential eligibility age from 40," as a campaign promise.
He cited examples such as Emmanuel Macron, the French president who just turned 40, and former U.S. President Barack Obama, saying, "If the eligibility age is expanded to those over 18, opportunities for youth political participation will naturally increase, and discussions on various 'youth agendas' will become more active in the political sphere. Issues concerning youth, such as youth employment, university tuition fees, and military service, will clearly see stronger youth influence. This will be a significant stimulus to the existing political sphere," he emphasized.
