Jinju-si Selected as 'Best Water Management Institution'
Jinju City was selected as the 'Best Water Management Institution of 2021' at the Comprehensive Water Technology Workshop held in Gyeongju.
View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam announced on the 10th that it was selected as the 'Best Water Management Institution' at the 2021 Second Half Comprehensive Water Technology Workshop ceremony held at the Lahan Hotel Gyeongju Convention Hall in Gyeongju.
The 'Comprehensive Water Management Technology Workshop' is an event hosted by the National Assembly Environment Forum and organized by Water Love Newspaper and the Global Water Industry Information Center, held since 2005 for institutions leading the supply of clean water.
Jinju City was recognized for its contribution to supplying clean and stable tap water and improving water retention rates through projects such as replacing aging water pipes with an annual budget exceeding 10 billion won since 2018 in this year's water management institution evaluation.
In addition, efforts to actively promote water and sewage administration, including ▲establishment of a smart remote meter reading system ▲improvement of Namgang River water quality through expansion of sewage treatment facilities ▲prevention of sinkholes by repairing aging sewage pipelines, were highly evaluated.
Jinju City plans to invest a budget of 111.7 billion won (including 55.8 billion won in national funds) from 2020 to 2024 to improve water purification plant hygiene management and prevent the occurrence of tap water larvae.
