Nexon Reports 3Q Operating Profit of 313.7 Billion KRW, Up 8% YoY... "Exceeds Forecast" (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Nexon announced on the 9th that it recorded consolidated sales of 798 billion KRW and operating profit of 313.7 billion KRW for the third quarter of this year. The results exceeded expectations, with sales decreasing by 4% year-on-year and operating profit increasing by 8%.
The strong sales of Dungeon & Fighter (DNF) and solid performance of major live games such as Sudden Attack and FIFA Online 4 led to the favorable results.
In particular, for DNF, after the return of Neople General Director Yoon Myung-jin, who took office in August, the system overhaul and content updates quickly introduced based on user feedback received positive responses from users in China and Korea.
In the China region, the summer update and National Day update were well received, resulting in a 45% growth compared to the same period last year, while in Korea, a large-scale update to celebrate the 16th anniversary of the service led to a 22% growth compared to the same period last year.
Sudden Attack’s representative subscription content, the Sudden Pass, which has been established as a seasonal system, continues to receive steady responses. With continuous content updates including the introduction of new modes, weapon revamps, convenience feature improvements, and celebrity character releases, it recorded a high growth rate of 211% compared to the same period last year.
FIFA Online 4 also maintained stable growth by continuously introducing special reward events, a trade system, and new classes.
