Gwangju Jeonnam Small and Medium Business Administration Holds Plaque Ceremony for Baeknyeon Gage and Baeknyeon Sogongin
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration (Director Jang Daegyo) announced that it held a plaque ceremony for Century-old Stores and Century-old Small Artisans.
The Gwangju-Jeonnam Small and Medium Business Administration held these events on the 3rd and 8th at the Century-old Store '1969 Yangdong Fried Chicken' and the Century-old Small Artisan 'Agricultural Corporation Bukha Specialty Products Group,' respectively.
Century-old Stores and Century-old Small Artisans are projects that discover small business owners and small to medium enterprises with over 30 years of business experience (over 15 years for Century-old Small Artisans), nurture them to sustain and grow for more than 100 years, and spread their successful models.
'1969 Yangdong Fried Chicken' is Gwangju's first fried chicken restaurant, operating in the same location for over 50 years. It is characterized by coating the chicken only with natural grains such as soybeans and glutinous rice to maintain a healthy taste. The store strives to repay customers' love in various ways, such as supplying 800 chickens to underprivileged families struggling due to COVID-19.
'Bukha Specialty Products Group' is located in Jangseong-gun, Jeonnam, and is a company with 15 years of experience producing and processing traditional foods such as sauces and pickles made from chili peppers and soybeans grown in the village.
Moreover, it does not remain only in tradition but creates new recipes and exports them overseas to countries such as the United States and Australia, leading the globalization of Jangseong-gun's specialty products.
This year, the second batch of selected Century-old Stores includes a total of 17 places: 6 restaurants, 6 beauty businesses, and 5 wholesale and retail businesses.
For Century-old Small Artisans, 17 companies were selected, including 9 ceramic manufacturers, 2 clothing manufacturers, 2 food manufacturers, and one each in rice cake, printing, wood, and furniture manufacturing.
Companies selected as Century-old Stores and Century-old Small Artisans receive certificates and plaques, along with sales channel support and facility improvement costs of up to 4.2 million KRW per company.
Director Jang Daegyo stated, “Congratulations on being selected as the representative Century-old Stores and Century-old Small Artisans of the Gwangju-Jeonnam region. We will do our best to support them so that Century-old Stores and Century-old Small Artisans can become role models for small business owners struggling due to COVID-19.”
