Willa Announces Winners of the 'Brunch Book Audiobook Publishing Project'
10 of 20 Award-Winning Works Released First, One Released Daily from the 8th
Special Judges Including Director Byeongju Byeon, PD Jaek Lee, Writer Hyomin Nam, and Voice Actor Dohyeong Nam Evaluate
[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The award-winning works of the ‘Brunch Book Audiobook Publishing Project,’ jointly conducted by the audiobook platform Willa and Kakao’s content publishing platform Brunch, are being released sequentially as audiobooks. Starting from the 8th, 10 award-winning works will be released one per day as audiobooks. On the 6th of next month, another 10 award-winning works will be delivered daily to Willa users.
Launched in June, the ‘Brunch Book Audiobook Publishing Project’ selected 20 award-winning works after a selection period of about two months from over 3,300 submissions. Special judges including film director Byun Young-joo, PD Lee Jae-ik, broadcast writer Nam Hyo-min, and voice actor Nam Do-hyung, along with internal judges, comprehensively evaluated the submissions regardless of theme or genre, considering completeness, originality, and suitability for audiobooks.
The 20 award-winning works produced as Willa original audiobooks were created with sound effects and direction matching the atmosphere of each work. It is said that they were completed as high-quality audiobooks through professional voice actors’ narration and acting. Special judge Nam Hyo-min also participated in selecting background music (BGM) for the audiobooks, adding significance.
The 10 award-winning works introduced by Willa this month include ‘After Cleaning, I Arrived in Lisbon,’ ‘The Most Ordinary School,’ ‘Living as a Surgeon,’ ‘Animal Farm 2021,’ ‘I Want to Eat,’ ‘Philosophy Delicious at First Bite,’ ‘The World Where Lost Sounds Go,’ ‘Pet Loss: My Night Because of You,’ ‘The Usefulness of Mathematics: The French Revolution,’ and ‘Mother and Daughter Marriage.’
