Gyeonggi-do Unveils 68 Provincial Intangible Cultural Assets... Hanam Event from 12th to 14th
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will unveil 68 types of intangible cultural assets.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 9th that it will hold the "2021 Gyeonggi Province Human Cultural Assets Grand Festival," showcasing 68 types of Gyeonggi Province intangible cultural assets at the Hanam Culture and Arts Center Grand Theater from the 12th to the 14th.
Co-hosted by the province and Hanam City and organized by the Gyeonggi Intangible Cultural Assets Federation, this event, themed "Breath of a Thousand Years, Masters' Chronicles," will present intangible cultural assets such as performance techniques, music, dance, and games through performances and exhibitions.
The 68 intangible cultural assets revealed during the event include 40 functional categories such as potters (Cheonghwa Baekja) and Bangja metalworkers, and 28 artistic categories such as Gyeonggi Sori (Hwimori Japgi) and Siheung Gunjabong Seonghwangje.
The province will broadcast the event live on YouTube.
Kim Jin-gi, Director of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the province, said, "The Gyeonggi Province Human Cultural Assets Grand Festival is an event that inherits and passes on artistic inspiration and technical tradition, serving as a historical link connecting the past and present and an asset opening the future. We will strive to make it a festival of innovation rooted in tradition that preserves and transmits our proud intangible heritage."
