Vaccination Status Survey in November
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Regional Employment and Labor Office (Director Hwang Jongcheol) announced on the 8th that it will investigate the COVID-19 vaccination status of workers in industrial complexes densely populated with small and medium-sized enterprises within this month.
There are 11 industrial complexes operating in the Gwangju area, including Hanam, Pyeongdong, and Songam.
Manufacturing industries such as electronics, machinery, and chemicals, classified according to the Korean Standard Industrial Classification announced by the Statistics Korea, as well as storage and warehousing, and transportation industries are located there.
The Gwangju Labor Office plans to expand its encouragement of vaccination, which had been focused on manufacturing and construction sites, to small and medium-sized enterprises in the Songam General Industrial Complex in Nam-gu, Gwangju, where many machinery and equipment repair and transportation businesses are located.
Along with this, through investigating vaccination status and plans, they intend to provide guidance and encouragement to increase the vaccination rate among workers in small and medium-sized enterprises, including foreign workers.
A Gwangju Labor Office official said, “The most important factor for phased daily recovery is ‘vaccination,’” and added, “We will focus on informing that even undocumented foreign workers can receive vaccinations safely without exposing their identity.”
