According to the county on the 8th, through this project, the latest automated equipment will be provided to poultry farms, allowing daily direct disinfection of farmyards and surrounding areas, reducing labor, and maximizing disinfection effectiveness.
The target is seven poultry farms, with a project budget of 37 million KRW to support the installation of fixed three-row vehicle disinfection facilities at barn entrances and one-touch disinfection facilities around the barn yards and perimeters.
Additionally, wild bird repellents are being distributed to eight duck farms to strengthen the prevention of wild birds entering the farms, and dedicated public officials are assigned to 34 poultry farms to conduct daily disease surveillance and provide guidance on biosecurity measures.
Haenam County has designated a special quarantine period from last month until February next year, operating a special quarantine countermeasures situation room within the Livestock Office, and running key disinfection facilities 24 hours a day, making every effort to proactively block livestock diseases such as AI, foot-and-mouth disease, and African swine fever.
Previously, the county completely blocked livestock vehicle access to three major winter migratory bird habitats in Yeongamho, Gocheonam, and Geumhoho.
At the entrances, control posts and guide signs have been installed, and for incoming vehicles, detour routes and disinfection guidance through county key disinfection facilities are being implemented.
For vehicles entering migratory bird habitats, the reasons for entry are investigated, and if violations of the Livestock Infectious Disease Prevention Act are confirmed, fines will be imposed along with strong administrative measures.
Furthermore, a lime barrier belt has been established by applying quicklime at 34 major roadside locations near migratory bird habitats.
