Gwangju City "Check Government and Local Government Subsidies at a Glance"
'BojoGeum24' Service Expanded from December
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 8th that it will expand the operation of the ‘Bojo-geum24’ service from December, which allows users to check various benefits provided by the government and local governments with just one login to Government24.
Bojo-geum24 is a customized subsidy guidance service that allows users to check and apply for various benefits provided by the central government, local governments, and public institutions at once through Government24. The service started on April 28.
Currently, Bojo-geum24 provides information on 305 types of public services related to jobs, welfare, education, and medical care offered by central government ministries. From December, the service will be expanded to include about 6,000 services provided by metropolitan and basic local governments.
In particular, Gwangju will add about 150 public welfare services unique to Gwangju, such as the Gwangju Birth Childcare Allowance, Gwangju-type Postpartum Care Service, additional support for Gwangju-type Infertility Treatment Expenses, support for the most severe developmental disabilities, and the Gwangju-type Basic Livelihood Security System.
Additionally, about 20 types of services, including support for democratization movement participants’ livelihoods, veterans’ honor allowances, and Yellow Whistle support for welfare blind spots, will be available for inquiry and immediate online application through Bojo-geum24.
Users can access the Bojo-geum24 service by logging in through the Government24 website or mobile app. They can also visit the nearest Dong Administrative Welfare Center with an ID card to submit an application form and receive the same guidance as online.
In this regard, Gwangju plans to operate dedicated service counters at Dong Administrative Welfare Centers to enable many citizens to use the service and promote Bojo-geum24 through various media such as bulletin boards, electronic display boards, and social network services (SNS).
Joo Jaehee, Director of Innovation Communication Planning at the city, said, “We will actively promote Bojo-geum24 to ensure that citizens do not miss out on public services provided by the government or local governments due to lack of awareness.”
