Gwangju Office of Education Conducts 'Disaster Safety Management Capacity Enhancement' for 408 School Principals
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education will conduct the '2021 School Safety Officer Disaster Safety Management Capacity Enhancement Training' on the 9th for 480 school principals who are school safety officers at kindergartens, elementary, middle, high, and special schools within the jurisdiction.
According to the Office of Education on the 8th, the training will be conducted online in a non-face-to-face manner by filming the lecture content at the Gwangju City Viewer Media Center and broadcasting it live through YouTube to prevent COVID-19.
This training was prepared to improve the response capabilities of school principals to prevent school safety accidents and to safely protect students and staff in the event of a crisis situation.
Professor Kim Rang-il of the Korea Safety Education Center, an expert in safety, disaster, and crisis management, will conduct the training under the theme 'The Role of Leaders in Creating Safe Schools.' The training consists of ▲ learning safety-related laws and regulations through case studies ▲ school risk assessment and accident prevention methods ▲ compensation and settlement processes in case of safety accidents.
A Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education official said, "The role of school safety officers is very important to reduce safety accidents within schools and to respond quickly and efficiently when school safety accidents occur," adding, "We will continue to promote training that can enhance the capabilities of school safety officers."
