GIST 'Sangsangnarae - Into the Future' Story Science Competition Held

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] GIST (Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, President Kim Ki-seon) announced on the 8th that it held the 'Imagination Wings - Into the Future' GIST Story Science Competition for elementary, middle, and high school students in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions on the 6th.
This competition was held under the theme of 'A Future World Changed by Science' to freely imagine and tell stories, stimulating interest and enthusiasm for science and fostering future science and technology talents.
About 40 students participated in the preliminary round of this competition, and 9 students advanced to the finals, showcasing their creativity and fresh ideas about the future.
The grand prize in the elementary division was awarded to Joo Han-ul, a 5th grader at Jeongam Elementary School, who presented on the theme of 'A Hyperconnected World Enabling a Healthy and Clean Environment.' The grand prize in the middle school division was jointly awarded to Lee Yoon-seo, a 2nd grader at Gwangju Sungil Middle School, who presented 'An Artificial Intelligence Zoo Using 3D Printers and AI,' and Ryu Si-wan, a 1st grader at Yongjeong Middle School, who presented on the theme 'Room.' The grand prize winners received the GIST President's Award along with a MacBook Air as a prize.
Kim Ki-seon, President of GIST, said, "We will strive together so that the futures imagined by all students participating in this competition do not end as mere imagination but can be realized." He added, "Going forward, GIST will contribute to nurturing future science and technology talents in the region through various programs in collaboration with the local community."
