2022 Gangwon World Forest Expo Organizing Committee Holds 'Detailed Implementation Plan Report Meeting'
Presenting a Successful Model for New Industry Creation and Sustainable Forest Management
[Asia Economy Reporter La Youngcheol] The Gangwon World Forest Expo Organizing Committee held a meeting on the 8th to review preparations and report detailed execution plans for the Expo scheduled to be held next year.
At the meeting held at the Sapphire Hall of Sejong Hotel in Chuncheon, chaired by Organizing Chairman Kang Taeseon, Chairman Kang emphasized, "It is of utmost importance for Gangwon-do, the forest capital of Korea, to leap forward as a global forest capital," and urged, "We ask for the active participation of forest organizations to achieve the target of 1.32 million visitors."
Governor Choi Moonsoon of Gangwon-do requested, "Gangwon-do, the Expo organizing committee, Sokcho City, Inje County, Goseong County, Yangyang County, and forestry workers must unite with one mind, and all related organizations should cooperate organically, with voluntary participation from residents, for the success of the Expo, which holds the fate of Gangwon-do."
The meeting was attended by Organizing Chairman Kang Taeseon, Governor Choi Moonsoon, deputy heads of four regions, and heads of 16 forest-related organizations within the province.
Meanwhile, the 2022 Gangwon World Forest Expo will be held for 33 days from April 4 to June 5 next year at the Gangwon World Jamboree Training Center and the Seorak~Geumgang area, connecting four cities and counties (Sokcho, Inje, Goseong, Yangyang).
