KRCA, awarded under the supervision of the Korea Standards Association, evaluates domestic companies' sustainability reports based on the global guideline for sustainability report preparation, the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative). Various stakeholders and experts directly participate in the evaluation, selecting excellent reports by companies in each sector: manufacturing, service, public, and first publication.
In this evaluation, targeting 152 domestic sustainability reports published from August 2020 to July 2021, KCC was selected as an excellent company in the manufacturing sector for the seventh consecutive year. KCC's '2020/21 KCC Sustainability Report,' published this year, contains information on KCC's ESG management activities, their outcomes, and key issues from January 2020 to the first quarter of 2021. By complying with the GRI guidelines, the report was highly rated for reliability, communicability, and completeness, and it excellently reflected ESG management activities that stakeholders consider important.
A KCC official stated, "As important as corporate management performance is the creation of social value and deep communication with stakeholders," adding, "With this award as an opportunity, we will faithfully fulfill our role as a sustainable company and a global corporate citizen through systematic ESG management activities such as eco-friendly technological innovation, carbon emission reduction, win-win growth, and building a cooperative labor-management culture."
