Before Lover's Drastic Choice "Die"... Police Official Faces Arrest Warrant for 'Threats and Suicide Inducement' Charges
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] An official at a police station in Incheon has had an arrest warrant requested on charges of instigating his lover's extreme choice.
On the 8th, the Incheon Western Police Station announced that it had requested an arrest warrant for Inspector A, affiliated with a police station in Incheon, on charges of intimidation and instigating suicide.
Initially, the police applied only the intimidation charge against Inspector A, but later added the charge of instigating suicide, believing that he effectively caused his lover's extreme choice.
According to Article 252 of the Criminal Act, anyone who causes or aids another person to make an extreme choice can be sentenced to imprisonment for not less than one year and not more than ten years.
Inspector A's pre-arrest suspect interrogation (warrant substantive examination) is scheduled to be held on the afternoon of the 8th at the Incheon District Court.
Inspector A is suspected of intimidating his lover, a woman in her 40s named Ms. B, during a phone call in the early hours of the 2nd. It was investigated that during an argument, when Ms. B said "I want to die," he responded with "Die."
Ms. B was found dead from an extreme choice at a villa in Seo-gu, Incheon, around 8:30 a.m. on the same day.
While investigating Ms. B's mobile phone through digital forensics, the police discovered an audio file recording Inspector A intimidating Ms. B. The intimidation occurred just before Ms. B made her extreme choice, and the content was related to Ms. B's private life.
