Naju-si, Cluster Infection of 30 COVID-19 Confirmed Cases Occurs
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] A COVID-19 cluster infection occurred at a food manufacturing factory located in Seji-myeon, Naju City.
According to Naju City on the 7th, 30 domestic and foreign workers employed at the factory tested positive for COVID-19 on the 5th and were placed under treatment and quarantine measures.
The total number of factory workers is 90, and among the 30 confirmed cases, 10 are domestic workers and 20 are foreigners of various Southeast Asian nationalities.
They were transferred to KEPCO KPS Human Resources Development Institute: 24 people (5 domestic, 19 foreign), Gangjin Medical Center: 2 people (1 domestic, 1 foreign). Four confirmed cases residing in Gwangju Metropolitan City were transferred to the Gwangju Treatment Center.
Among the remaining 60 factory employees, 36 were placed in temporary isolation facilities (Gongsan Youth Hostel), and 24 close contacts were placed under self-quarantine.
The quarantine authorities urgently installed a temporary screening clinic at the factory at 9 a.m. on the same day, completed testing of all employees, disinfected inside and outside the factory as well as the confirmed patients’ residences, and are conducting epidemiological investigations to identify movement paths and contacts.
