The Korea Sustainability Report Awards have been hosted by the Korean Standards Association since 2008, selecting and awarding outstanding reports annually through reader evaluations and expert reviews.
SK Broadband published its first sustainability management report, "CONNECT TO THE FUTURE," in July, reflecting the company's future direction and commitment to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management. SK Broadband's report received high praise for faithfully incorporating key ESG management activities and international standards such as GRI, as well as the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board and climate-related financial information.
As a leading ICT company in Korea, SK Broadband, along with eight SK Group affiliates, declared its membership in RE100?the first in Korea?and partnered with Korea Electric Power Corporation to transform the Yeoju Satellite Center into an eco-friendly energy site.
Additionally, SK Broadband declared its goal to achieve Net Zero by 2045 and has developed and provided a low-power set-top box that reduces power consumption by up to four times compared to conventional set-top boxes. Furthermore, through the replacement and dismantling of outdated equipment, the company plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 7,449 tons (15,978 MWh) annually by 2024.
In response to these company-wide efforts, SK Broadband employees voluntarily participate in the 'Go Go Challenge,' a campaign to avoid using single-use plastics.
Moreover, SK Broadband continues to focus on realizing social value through media services. Last year, it produced and broadcast original content related to senior health titled "Super Brain," and this year, it is assisting elderly people facing difficulties due to COVID-19 by utilizing the corporate broadcasting solution Media Board.
It is also deeply committed to building social safety nets. As part of SK Group's 'One Meal Sharing Ontact' project, since January this year, SK Broadband has been collaborating with senior welfare centers under Suwon City and social enterprises to support meal services for elderly people living alone.
