Gwangju Jeonnam Small and Medium Business Administration Selected 'Jeonnam Naju' as Best Regional Special Zone
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration (Commissioner Jang Dae-gyo) announced that the 'Jeonnam Naju Pear Special Zone' was selected as the best regional special zone following the Regional Specialized Development Special Zone Committee meeting.
Out of 195 special zones nationwide, nine excellent special zones were selected based on the evaluation of operational performance over 20 years. This time, our region's 'Naju Pear Special Zone' was chosen as the best, while the 'Damyang Humanities and Traditional Garden Special Zone' and the 'Yeonggwang Barley and Mosip Leaf Special Zone' received encouragement awards.
The selected excellent special zones have achieved visible results in employment, exports, and other areas through the cultivation of regional specialized resources. Awards and prize money will be given to the excellent special zones to support the acceleration of regional specialized development.
The 'Jeonnam Naju Pear Special Zone,' selected as the best regional special zone, pioneered the global market for 'Naju Pear' through new product development (such as McDonald's Pear Chiller, pear wine, etc.) and active exports (first direct export to Vietnam and exports to 11 countries).
Commissioner Jang Dae-gyo stated, “We will continue to provide unwavering support for the development of regional specialized projects.”
