On the afternoon of the same day, Vice Minister Lee held a 'Meeting for the Promotion of the Service Industry' at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jung-gu, Seoul, stating, "Seobalbeop is an institutional infrastructure for the systematic and long-term development of the service industry," and added, "Legislation is essential for the service industry's leap forward and securing future growth engines for the next 30 years." The Seobalbeop is a bill currently pending in the National Assembly that includes regulatory improvements and support measures to revitalize related service industries.
Vice Minister Lee emphasized repeatedly, "The environment surrounding the service industry is changing faster than ever, and fundamental changes are underway in the service sector," adding, "It is a time to gather wisdom for a leap forward." He also requested active cooperation from the related industries, saying, "Starting with adapting to recent megatrend changes, a strategy to actively utilize the current situation is necessary," and "A synergy combining the industry's creative ideas and passion is needed."
