Police Conduct Search and Seizure at Two Sites Including Inspection Company Related to 'Fire Extinguishing Agent Leakage Accident'
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] The police conducted a search and seizure on two companies in connection with the fire extinguishing agent leakage accident that occurred at the construction site of the new Gasan Metro Knowledge Industry Center in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul.
The Geumcheon Police Station in Seoul announced that from around 1:20 PM on the 4th, they have been conducting search and seizure at two locations, including the Gasan Metro Knowledge Industry Center, to determine the cause of the accident.
According to the police, one of the other locations is known to be a private company related to safety supervision.
A police official stated, "We plan to conduct a strict investigation through analysis of seized items to identify the cause of the accident, assess the adequacy of the fire extinguishing facilities, compliance with safety regulations, implementation of safety training, and the appropriateness of actions taken during evacuation."
Meanwhile, at around 8:52 AM on the 23rd of last month, a chemical weighing 58 kg and with a capacity of 87 liters, emitting carbon dioxide, leaked in the basement of the new construction site of the Gasan Metro Knowledge Industry Center, resulting in a total of 21 casualties including 4 deaths.

The police have formed a dedicated team of about 20 members at the Geumcheon Police Station to investigate. So far, no one has been booked in connection with this accident.
