Korea-China-Japan and ASEAN Discuss Post-COVID Employment Policies
Ministry of Employment and Labor and World Bank Hold 'ASEAN+3 Skills Development Forum'
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Ministry of Employment and Labor announced on the 4th that it will hold the '2021 ASEAN+3 Vocational Competency Development Forum' on the 4th and 5th at the Dragon City Hotel in Seoul, attended by employment policy officials from Korea, China, Japan, and the 10 member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
Co-hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the World Bank, and organized by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, the theme of this forum is 'Vocational Competency Development and Employment Policy for a Better Future after COVID-19.' About 120 participants including policy officials from the 10 ASEAN countries and Korea, China, Japan, as well as international organization experts, will attend the forum.
Toby Linden, Country Director of the World Bank, will deliver a keynote speech titled 'Reinterpreting Future Skills Development: A Better Future after COVID-19,' and Ronald Jacob, Professor at Illinois State University, USA, will speak on 'Skills Development Using Digital Technology: Challenges and Prospects for Resilient Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET)'.
