[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] Hungarian President J?nos ?der stated during a press announcement following the summit with President Moon Jae-in on the 3rd (local time) that "both countries share the intention that achieving carbon neutrality is impossible without the use of nuclear energy."
President ?der conveyed that "both South Korea and Hungary have pledged carbon neutrality by 2050." His explanation can be interpreted as both countries reaching a consensus on the necessity of nuclear energy in relation to carbon neutrality.
President ?der explained, "Besides nuclear power, South Korea aims to strengthen wind power, and Hungary also wants to enhance solar-based renewable energy policies similar to South Korea, and we discussed this."

Meanwhile, President Moon said, "We exchanged views on the outcomes of the COP26 summit and the realization of ‘2050 Carbon Neutrality,’ and agreed on the need for new efforts based on digital transformation and green transition for sustainable growth."
