Lee presided over the first campaign committee meeting at the National Assembly and requested the party and the floor leadership, saying, "We must take care of the livelihoods of small business owners who were directly affected by COVID-19 and the people who were indirectly and widely affected."
He stated, "South Korea has an abnormally high household debt ratio and the lowest national debt ratio in the world. Appropriate household support is absolutely necessary, and through this, we must embrace households," adding, "It is not about increasing debt recklessly, but it is necessary to recognize that the national debt ratio is not a significant obstacle."
He also called for increasing the minimum threshold for COVID-19 loss compensation and preparing new alternatives for those excluded from loss compensation.
Lee said, "There are acts that undermine the foundation of democracy by deliberately spreading fake news using privileges granted to protect democracy," and added, "The parliamentary immunity, which was created to guarantee the freedom of speech, freedom of expression, and freedom of political activity of lawmakers, is becoming a privilege for crime."
He continued, "In this regard, we should consider partially restricting the parliamentary immunity of lawmakers."
He also emphasized, "Corresponding responsibility must be imposed on clear fake news by the media," and stated, "It is essential to have measures to prevent the media's privilege from turning into a privilege that allows committing crimes or evading punishment for breaking the law."
Regarding real estate system reform, he reiterated the promotion of a system for full recovery of real estate development profits, the price ceiling system for pre-sale, and the disclosure system of pre-sale costs. He added, "I ask that the system made by the People Power Party government to facilitate private development be completely revised this time."
He said, "The conservative media corruption faction that used to ask why 100% public development was not done has changed its stance and is now saying that private interests must be guaranteed," and added, "(The opposition party) will make various excuses and oppose it. They will delay and block it, so please proceed strongly without hesitation."
Regarding the operation of the campaign committee, Lee said, "Since the campaign committee is mammoth-sized, there is a possibility that responsibilities and authorities become unclear, so it would be good if everyone inside thinks that they are all candidates and standing campaign committee chairs to raise a sense of responsibility."
