Gwangju Dong-gu 'Autumn 愛 Rose' Chodae Rose Street Autumn Cultural Festival Held
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] Dong-gu, Gwangju (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 3rd that it held the autumn cultural festival "Autumn愛 Rose" in the Jodae Rose Street shopping district area (back gate of Chosun University) in line with the phased recovery of daily life from COVID-19.
Hosted by the Jodae Rose Street Merchants Association and the Cultural Tourism Market Development Project Group, this autumn cultural festival was prepared as a variety of events with the concept of autumn, rose, and youth as part of the Jodae Rose Street cultural tourism project.
At the festival held for the first time this year, the 'Rose-colored Youth Flea Market' and 'Chosun University Club and Shopping District Promotion Booth' were operated for the merchants of the Jodae Rose Street shopping district who have endured difficult times due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, injecting vitality into the depressed alley commercial area.
Following this, a talk concert called 'Rose Salon,' where young participants could express their talents, passion, and thoughts, was held. Youth activists Kim Yeo-il (current chairman of the Gwangju Gwangsan-gu Youth Policy Committee) and Park Jin-gam (current vice chairman of the Gwangju Gwangsan-gu Youth Policy Committee) were invited to open a forum for discussion on youth issues, policies, and the future.
Im Taek, mayor of Dong-gu, said, "I hope this will be a time to revitalize the traditional markets and shopping district merchants who have had a hard time due to social distancing," and added, "With the phased recovery of daily life starting this month, we will continue to support so that Jodae Rose Street can establish itself as a representative youth street of Gwangju."
