Presentation on "Park and Green Space Information DB Construction and Management Plan"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced on the 2nd that it won the grand prize in the spatial information category at the ‘2021 Spatial Information and Road Name Address Research Project Presentation Contest’ hosted by Jeollanam-do, achieving the remarkable feat of winning for six consecutive years.
The presentation contest held in Jeollanam-do was selected through evaluations by a panel of judges composed of experts in related fields, university professors, and public officials from Jeollanam-do and its cities and counties.
The contest is held annually to promote information exchange among cities and counties in the province and to enhance the expertise of related public officials through research project presentations and special lectures in two fields: spatial information and road name addresses.
The city won the grand prize by presenting on the theme of ‘Establishment and Management Plan of Park/Green Space Spatial Information DB,’ outlining the establishment of an integrated system covering the entire cycle of green spatial information data collection, management, and utilization in line with the government’s Digital New Deal policy, as well as strategies to enable citizens to utilize valuable spatial information data.
Meanwhile, Gwangyang City has been gradually building a DB of changed road facilities since 2017 with its own personnel in the Information and Communication Division, saving about 3.2 billion KRW in budget, and plans to disclose park and green space spatial information data on the Public Data Portal by December.
Lee Ju-ok, head of the Information and Communication Division, said, “Next year, we will do our best to provide accurate and useful up-to-date spatial information and promote administrative convenience through the maintenance of the spatial information system.”
