Gwangju Seo-gu 'Multipurpose Center Construction Resident Briefing Session' Held

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Dae-seok) announced on the 2nd that it held a residents' briefing session on the 1st for about 50 residents each from Yangdong and Yudeok-dong regarding the promotion of the construction of a 'Multipurpose Center' following the selection of the Life SOC Complex Project.

The Life SOC Complex Project is a support project for essential living infrastructure that integrates childcare, medical, welfare, education, cultural, and sports facilities into a single complex facility.

Through the '2022 Life SOC Complex Public Contest Project,' Seo-gu will receive national and city budget support over the next two years to create spaces that enhance residents' convenience.

The Yangdong Multipurpose Center will be a four-story building with a total floor area of 800㎡, featuring a 'Life Culture Center,' a 'Health Management Room,' and a 'Small Library,' aiming to provide diverse cultural experiences and community-level health promotion services.

The Yudeok-dong Multipurpose Center will be a three-story building with a total floor area of 990㎡, establishing a 'Health Life Support Center' serving as a hub for residents' health and a 'Life Culture Center' for autonomous program activities, thereby offering tailored cultural benefits to local residents.

This residents' briefing session was organized to share and discuss with residents the purpose of the 'Multipurpose Center' as a complex cultural space, its key promotion directions, facility scale, and operational plans. Various opinions were exchanged through a Q&A session between Mayor Seo Dae-seok and the residents.

Seo Dae-seok, Mayor of Seo-gu, said, "Once the Life SOC Complex Project is completed, residents will be able to enjoy various cultural and welfare benefits nearby," and added, "We will do our best to ensure that the Life SOC Complex Project, aimed at improving residents' quality of life, proceeds without any setbacks."
