[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] The Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Fire Safety Headquarters (Chief Park Geun-oh) announced on the 2nd that it held a special event over two days, on the 30th and 31st of last month, at the Jeju Safety Experience Center to celebrate its first anniversary.
The Jeju Safety Experience Center is an educational space where visitors can experience occupational training related to natural disasters such as typhoons and earthquakes, as well as urban disasters like fires. It was established as the eighth facility nationwide on November 3rd last year.
Over the past year, it has conducted education for a total of about 24,000 visitors, leading efforts to spread a culture of safety.
The event was held with strict adherence to quarantine guidelines.
It featured various activities including aircraft safety experiences conducted by flight attendants, children's safety puppet shows, making magical masks, and a Halloween costume photo contest, which received great responses from the visitors who participated in the event.
A representative from the Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters said, “Despite the difficulties in conducting experiential education due to COVID-19, we are grateful that the event was completed without any incidents thanks to the great interest and cooperation of the users. We will continue to develop vivid experiential content based on field experience to make Jeju a safer place.”
