NH Amundi Asset Management Practices ESG Management... Conducts Rural Labor Support
[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] NH-Amundi Asset Management employees announced on the 2nd that they visited grape farms in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province, and strawberry farms in Hwaseong City last month to assist with farm work.
This activity took place at farms in the Gyeonggi area facing difficulties due to the aging rural population and the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, which made it hard to secure labor. Employees participating in the volunteer work wore masks and maintained social distancing to prevent infection while working.
On the 22nd of last month, at the grape-scented village in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province, which is a sister city to NH-Amundi Asset Management, they removed vinyl greenhouses in the vineyards, repaired demolition equipment, and attached pest control signs. On the 28th of last month, at a returning-to-the-countryside farm in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, they organized and cleaned vinyl greenhouses, thinned strawberry leaves, and planted lettuce seedlings.
Park Chang-woon, chairman of the Seo Hwaseong Nonghyup, joined the volunteer work at the Hwaseong strawberry farm. Chairman Park encouraged the participating employees and discussed increasing farm income with Park Hak-joo, CEO of NH-Amundi Asset Management, on site.
CEO Park Hak-joo said, “We hope our small help will support the farms during these difficult times due to COVID-19, and we plan to continue volunteer activities steadily to assist farms in need.”
