Chinese Restaurants Focused, Autumn 'Healthy Chinese Cuisine Promotion' Launched
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Haevichi Hotel & Resort announced on the 1st that its upscale Chinese restaurant 'Jungsim,' located in Jongno, Seoul, will hold the 'Wonhwa Sobok (遠禍召福) Gala Dinner' on November 25-26, carrying hopes for the New Year.
'Wonhwa Sobok' means 'to ward off misfortune and invite blessings,' expressing a wish to overcome the difficulties of the ongoing COVID-19 situation and to welcome new hope and fortune.
The event will feature a nine-course meal at the level of a luxury hotel, using premium health-boosting ingredients such as wild abalone and sea cucumber from Namhae, natural pine mushrooms from Bonghwa Mountain, and truffles, one of the world's three delicacies.
The meal begins with an appetizer consisting of seasonal deep-fried oysters from Tongyeong, jellyfish feet, pork skin, and Cantonese-style barbecue. Following this, dishes such as 'Sea Cucumber Gold Blessing,' featuring ASC-certified wild abalone from Namhae topped with sea cucumber soaked and boiled for five days, fresh ginseng, and gold leaf; and 'Gamtai Natural Pine Mushroom,' with natural pine mushrooms from Bonghwa dressed in Taean seaweed sauce, will be served in sequence. Other courses include 'Chili Lobster,' steamed and fried for a good texture and coated with a special chili sauce; 'Mala Lamb Ribs,' marinated in a special mala seasoning; 'Oyster Jjamppong,' containing fresh oysters from Tongyeong; and a peach-shaped dessert symbolizing longevity in China, totaling nine courses.
Wines served to accompany the meal include 'Drappier Carte d'Or Brut,' known as a champagne that brings good luck, 'The Next Big Thing Chardonnay,' 'Clovella,' 'Naknak Shiraz,' and 'Bread & Butter Cabernet Sauvignon.' The gala dinner is available for up to 40 guests per day from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM.

During the same period, for customers preferring a lighter lunch gathering, a 'Wonhwa Sobok Lunch Course' consisting of five courses will also be offered. This includes 'Three kinds of appetizers,' 'Gamtai Natural Pine Mushroom,' 'Chili Prawn,' 'Mala Lamb Ribs,' and 'Oyster Jjamppong,' available exclusively for up to 20 guests reserving a private room per day.
