G-FAIR KOREA 2021, Over 20,000 Visitors Amid COVID-19 Chill
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The largest comprehensive exhibition specializing in small and medium-sized enterprises in Korea, 'G-FAIR KOREA 2021 Korea Excellent Products Exhibition,' concluded on the 30th of last month with achievements including over 20,000 visitors, export consultations worth $14.6 million, and purchase consultations totaling 101.4 billion KRW, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The exhibition, held over three days from the 28th of last month at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 1, featured 500 participating companies, attracting around 430 overseas buyers and approximately 280 domestic purchasing managers.
Notably, consultations with domestic MDs who visited the venue in person increased by 63% compared to the previous year, and considering the ongoing online export consultation sessions through this month, even greater results are expected.
The Gyeonggi Economic Science Institute organized this year’s event with a showroom where products from exhibiting companies could be viewed in one place, a studio capable of live commerce broadcasting, and a special stage for explaining the products exhibited by companies.
The live studio not only broadcasted products online in real time but also provided on-site coverage for many attendees who could not visit the venue due to the COVID-19 situation.
Additionally, consultations for entry into well-known international e-commerce platforms such as Alibaba and Shopee were conducted in response to the expansion of e-commerce, transforming the exhibition into a hybrid event connecting domestic and international, online and offline channels, and earning recognition as a platform for companies to develop sales channels in the With-Corona era.
A company representative participating in this event stated, "This year’s exhibition was a valuable opportunity to meet domestic and overseas buyers who had been inaccessible due to COVID-19," adding, "In addition to consultation outcomes, various programs such as exhibition display and online shopping education, as well as on-site promotional events, were organized, resulting in significant promotional effects."
Lee Han-gyu, Vice Governor of Gyeonggi Province, who visited the exhibition venue, said, "Many small and medium-sized enterprises are facing great difficulties in developing domestic and international sales channels due to COVID-19," and promised, "Starting with G-FAIR KOREA, we will spare no support to help companies develop domestic and overseas sales channels in the With-Corona era."
