'Korean Black Friday' Korea Sale Festa Opens Tomorrow... Largest Scale Ever
Online and offline events held for two weeks from the 1st to 15th of next month... 2,053 companies participating
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] Korea's largest shopping festival, the '2021 Korea Sale Festa (Kosepe),' will open on the 1st of next month.
Hosted by the Korea Sale Festa Promotion Committee and supported by the government and 17 metropolitan cities and provinces nationwide, this event will be held simultaneously online and offline for two weeks until the 15th.
This year, 2,053 companies (as of the 28th) are participating, making it the largest scale ever. In particular, 1,179 representative consumer goods manufacturers directly related to daily life, such as home appliances, smartphones, automobiles, clothing, cosmetics, and furniture, are participating.
Participating companies have prepared various discount events and various giveaways and prize events. In the home appliances and digital industry, 74 companies including major firms such as Samsung, LG, and small and medium-sized enterprises like Otek Carrier are participating, offering up to 40% discounts on popular products such as TVs, refrigerators, and washing machines.
Complete car manufacturers such as Hyundai Motor and Renault Samsung are preparing special discounts and gift-giving events for major car models. Three tire companies, Hankook, Kumho, and Nexen, are selling all-season and winter tires at 20-40% discounts and also providing gifts such as fuel vouchers.
The furniture industry, including 29 companies such as Hyundai Livart, Jangsu Industry, and Emons, is conducting up to 50% discount events on major furniture items such as beds, sofas, tables, and chairs.
During the 'Korea Fashion Market Season 4,' 386 fashion and accessory brands online and offline will offer products at up to 80% discounts. Two hundred and one cosmetics companies will hold up to 60% discounts and 1+1 events on popular products.
Traditional markets in regions such as Daegu, Incheon, Sejong, Gangwon, and Jeonbuk have prepared various events, such as giving shopping baskets when purchasing over a certain amount.
Department stores such as Lotte, Shinsegae, and Hyundai are presenting fashion product discount events, up to 36% gift benefits, and coupon events.
Large marts and corporate supermarkets (SSM) such as E-Mart, Homeplus, and Lotte Shopping are selling groceries, agricultural, livestock, and marine products, home appliances, and clothing at up to 50% discounts.
Online companies such as Gmarket, 11st, Lotteon, and Interpark, totaling 527 companies, have prepared events such as up to 70% discounts and 30% discount coupons.
In addition, card companies offer 2-6 months interest-free installments and cashback on payments at affiliated stores, and telecommunications companies increase official subsidies.
