Jeju Fire Station Nohyeong 119 Center, Building Expansion and Completion 'Doors Wide Open'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Jeju Fire Station (Chief Go Jae-woo) announced on the 31st that a completion ceremony was held on the 29th following the completion of the expansion of the Nohyeong 119 Center building.
The completion ceremony was held with a minimized number of attendees to prevent COVID-19 infection, including provincial council members, guests, fire officials, and volunteer firefighters.
The existing Nohyeong 119 Center plays a central role in disaster prevention, accounting for a large portion in all areas such as high-rise and large buildings and 119 dispatch cases. However, due to the aging building and cramped space, an expansion and remodeling project was promoted in March this year.
The Nohyeong 119 Center building, which began construction on March 15 this year, is a three-story building above ground with a total floor area of 977.65㎡. The project cost 1.895 billion KRW and was completed on October 12.
Through horizontal and vertical expansion, insufficient spaces such as the air charging room and infection control room were secured, boldly improving the working environment to ensure a prompt and safe dispatch posture.
Go Jae-woo, Chief of Jeju Fire Station, said, “With the completion of the expansion of the Nohyeong 119 Center building and the improved working environment, we will do our best to provide high-quality fire services.”
