20s Driver Who Hit Police Officer and Tried to Flee on Halloween Eve Arrested
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] On the 30th, the day before Halloween, a man in his 20s who tried to hit a police officer with the car he was driving and flee after being reported for drunk driving was caught.
According to the police on the 31st, the Seocho Police Station in Seoul arrested Mr. A on charges of obstruction of official duties and violation of the Road Traffic Act (refusal to take a breathalyzer test) and is currently investigating him.
Mr. A is suspected of hitting a police officer who responded to a report of a "suspected drunk driving vehicle" near Gangnam Station in Seocho-gu with the car he was driving around 10:40 p.m. the previous day and attempting to escape. The police officer is reported to have not been seriously injured. After being arrested, Mr. A reportedly refused to comply with the police's request for a breathalyzer test.
