Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station Conducts Reenactment Experiment to Strengthen Fire Investigation Capabilities
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station (Chief Song Seonghun) announced on the 29th that it conducted a residential fire reenactment experiment to strengthen fire investigation capabilities.
This experiment utilized a building scheduled for demolition in a residential redevelopment area to observe smoke flow phenomena and combustion patterns during residential fires.
An experimental house was set up in one studio room within the building, arranging bedding, sofa, sink, and daily necessities to simulate an actual residential fire.
The main contents included ▲ experiment on the ignition process caused by heat accumulation of cooking oil during kitchen cooking ▲ observation of combustion progress of combustible materials inside the house and smoke flow phenomena within the building ▲ measurement of temperature and toxic gas concentration changes by floor over time ▲ confirmation of combustion patterns of internal combustible materials after fire suppression.
Chief Song Seonghun said, “The residential fire reenactment experiment provided a good opportunity to improve the ability to identify ignition causes and to devise effective life search and smoke ventilation methods in response to upper floor smoke inflow.”
