The operating profit of DL Chemical, a major subsidiary, was 25.9 billion KRW, up 22% from the same period last year. This was the result of the operation of the newly expanded 250,000-ton polyethylene (PE) plant earlier this year and continued strong sales of polybutene (PB) lubricants. DL Energy recorded an operating profit of 21.5 billion KRW, a 26% increase year-on-year, due to increased sales of renewable energy certificates (REC) and rising electricity prices following the increase in oil prices.
