Imsil-gun, Crispy Kimjang Festival Heats Up

[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] The enthusiasm for participation in the Imsil-gun Kimchi Festival, the Asak Asak Kimchi Festival, in Jeonbuk Imsil-gun is growing stronger.

On the 28th, according to the county, the pre-registration period for this Kimchi Festival has been extended for one week from the 29th to the 4th of next month.

The Kimchi Festival accepts pre-registrations via phone and website, and is conducted online through delivery and drive-thru methods, with the prepared quantity increased to 100 tons from last year's 80 tons.

Due to the sudden surge in vegetable prices, pre-registrations have surged, with nearly 70% of orders placed so far.

The county stated that the quantity prepared for the Kimchi Festival will be sold at the same price as before regardless of the rising vegetable prices, so those wishing to participate are advised to apply quickly.

This is because once the secured quantity is sold out, no further applications will be accepted.

The event price is 172,000 KRW (including delivery fee) for a set of salted napa cabbage (20kg) and seasoning (10kg), and if picked up directly via drive-thru at Imsil & Yangnyeom Co., the price is 165,000 KRW excluding delivery fee.

For those who pre-register, the kimchi set can be received via drive-thru or delivery on the desired date from the 5th of next month to December 4th.

The kimchi sets prepared by the county use various agricultural products such as napa cabbage and chili peppers grown locally, with thorough management of ingredients to ensure safety and quality of origin.

County Governor Sim Min said, “We have done our best to ensure consumers can trust and safely enjoy agricultural products such as napa cabbage and chili peppers grown locally. I hope that next year, after COVID-19 ends, the day will come when families can come directly to the festival site and make kimchi together.”
