KOSPI Still Quiet... Sideways Movement in the 3030s Range
KOSDAQ Also Moves Sideways Around the 1010 Level
[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] The KOSPI is hovering around the 3030 level with little fluctuation since the early trading session. The KOSDAQ is also moving around the 1010 level without significant ups and downs.
As of 1:50 PM on the 28th, the KOSPI recorded 3030.51, up 0.17% from the previous day. After opening slightly lower at 3023.17, it dropped to the 3019 level around 11:35 AM but then recovered to the 3030 level.
By investor type, foreigners net bought 300 million KRW, and individuals net bought 113.3 billion KRW. Institutions net sold 119.9 billion KRW.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ was up 0.06% from the previous day at 1009.53. It opened slightly lower at 1008.93, down just 0.02 points from the previous day, and has been moving sideways since.
The number of rising and falling sectors showed little difference. Banks (3.10%), electric and electronics (1.79%), medical precision (1.29%), and manufacturing (0.85%) rose, while insurance (-3.11%), steel and metals (-2.07%), and machinery (-1.45%) fell.
Individuals alone purchased stocks worth 107.4 billion KRW. Meanwhile, foreigners and institutions sold stocks worth 47.4 billion KRW and 37.3 billion KRW, respectively.

By sector, the number of declining sectors was slightly higher. Digital content (-2.87%), entertainment and culture (-2.41%), paper and wood (-2.25%), and IT S/W & SVC (-1.80%) saw the largest drops. Semiconductors (3.42%), biotech (2.22%), and IT H/W (2.01%) rose.
