Asiana Airlines Resumes Domestic Business Class Service After 18 Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Asiana Airlines announced on the 28th that it will resume domestic business class service starting November 5th. This marks the return of Asiana Airlines' domestic business class after an 18-year hiatus since it was discontinued in November 2003.
The company plans to simultaneously enhance customer satisfaction and improve profitability by offering more comfortable and relaxing seats amid increasing domestic passenger load factors due to recent COVID-19 vaccinations and the With-Corona policy.

The domestic routes include seven lines: ▲Gimpo~Jeju ▲Daegu~Jeju ▲Gwangju~Jeju ▲Cheongju~Jeju ▲Yeosu~Jeju ▲Gimpo~Gwangju ▲Gimpo~Yeosu, applying business class service across all domestic routes. The aircraft equipped with business class seats for domestic flights are the A321-200 and A330-300 models, with 12 seats on the A321 and 30 seats on the A330.

Customers using domestic business class will receive up to 30kg of free baggage allowance, lounge access (except at airports without lounges other than Gimpo and Jeju airports), business class counter service, and priority boarding and deplaning services.
To commemorate the reopening of domestic business class, Asiana Airlines will offer up to a 40% discount on fares for travel between November 5th and 30th. For the Gimpo~Jeju route, tickets can be purchased starting at KRW 92,700 on weekdays and KRW 101,800 on weekends.
