[Gangjin＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] Gangjin-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 28th that about 30 residents of Osan Village, Gundo-myeon, joined forces to beautify the village from the 15th to the 25th using 3 million won from the ‘Clean Jeonnam Best Village Making’ contest project fund.

The residents cultivated the village entrance road and the open space in front of the village hall, which have a high flow of people between Gangjin and Jangheung, and planted 2,500 marigold and cockscomb flowers to create a flower garden.

Kim Eun-ju, the village chief, said, “Turning the vacant lot in the village into a flower garden brightens the village and the township, bringing smiles naturally,” and added, “I am happy that the community spirit seems to be revived as the residents gathered and worked together after a long time.”

Kang Chun-hyuk, head of Gundo-myeon, said, “I deeply thank the residents who worked together to beautify the village despite the busy farming season,” and stated, “We will actively strive to successfully carry out the Best Village Making project during the remaining period.”
