Seoul City to Set Up Memorial Altar for Roh Tae-woo at Seoul Plaza
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daehyun] Following the government's decision for a 'state funeral,' Seoul City will set up and operate a memorial altar for the late former President Roh Tae-woo at Seoul Plaza.
According to Seoul City on the 27th, the memorial altar will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Seoul Plaza from the 28th to the 30th. After 10 p.m., visitors can participate in paying respects voluntarily.
The memorial altar for former President Roh Tae-woo will be installed in accordance with the altars set up at Seoul Plaza during the state funerals of former Presidents Kim Dae-jung in 2009 and Kim Young-sam in 2015. Considering the purpose of the 'state funeral' decision, full respect and protocol will be ensured. Wreaths and condolence flags will not be accepted separately.
To prevent COVID-19 infection, visitors must maintain sufficient distance upon arrival, undergo temperature checks, and sanitize their hands following staff guidance before entering. Entry will be restricted for those not wearing masks.
