[Muan＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan Regional Self-Support Center (Director Park Hyung-joon) in Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) was selected for the Jeonnam Metropolitan Self-Support Center's self-support labor public contest project for two consecutive years, receiving a total of 60 million won in project funds, including 40 million won in 2021 and 20 million won in 2020.

According to the county on the 27th, to provide work opportunities to low-income people with limited work ability, establish a foundation for self-reliance, and diversify self-support projects through the creation of competitive public jobs, they operate a total of nine self-support project groups, including trap making, coffee shop operation, coffee bean roasting and sales, mobile laundry service, food service, and hydroponic cultivation of sprout ginseng.

This year, the Naomi Delivery, a government grain delivery service project group, achieved the milestone of starting a business.

In addition, the Sprout Ginseng Self-Support Project Group was selected again this year for the Jeonnam Metropolitan Self-Support Project contest, following last year, focusing on industry diversification and cultivating the work abilities of participants in self-support labor projects.

This is expected to contribute not only to securing jobs that have become scarce due to the recent increase in low-income groups caused by COVID-19 but also to strengthening the capabilities of self-support participants.

Governor Kim San stated, “We will do our best to create quality jobs for vulnerable groups through the revitalization of self-support labor projects, provide various social welfare services, and strengthen the capabilities of participants in self-support labor projects.”
