[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Coupang issued an official apology after personal information was exposed on the Coupang application (app).
According to the industry on the 27th, for about an hour yesterday afternoon, during the order confirmation stage on the Coupang app, the name and part of the address of someone other than the member themselves were exposed.
Coupang stated that "During application improvement work, we internally identified that the name and address information of another person were temporarily exposed on some members' apps."
They added, "As soon as we recognized the information exposure, we completed the necessary security measures," and explained, "We are identifying the exact cause and progress and are proceeding with the reporting process to the Korea Internet & Security Agency."
Coupang also mentioned that they plan to notify customers affected by this issue separately.
