[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] S-OIL introduced its new electric vehicle-exclusive lubricant brand, ‘SevenEV,’ on the 26th.
The company plans to sell hybrid vehicle engine-specific lubricants domestically within this year and will sequentially launch other electric vehicle-exclusive products such as axle oil. The company explained, "In response to the expanding supply of eco-friendly vehicles, we have developed various lubricants for electric vehicles to lead ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management."
Last year, they developed four types of lubricants suitable for transmissions and reducers for hybrid and electric vehicles and decided to brand each product separately to expand domestic and international markets. To proactively respond to the expanding eco-friendly vehicle market, they have established a Technology Development Center (TS&D Center) in Magok to develop lubricants. It is also known that they supply dedicated lubricants for Hyundai’s new electric vehicles.
