This support is based on the 'Social Contribution Agreement' signed in 2018 between the Gyeongnam Office of Education and the Doosan Yeongang Foundation. The Doosan Yeongang Foundation provides the scholarships, while the Gyeongnam Office of Education supports administrative tasks including the selection of scholarship recipients.
The Office selected 35 'Doosan Dream Tree Scholars' targeting child-headed households and students in foster care, and 35 'Multicultural Family Scholars' targeting low-income students from multicultural families.
Superintendent Park Jong-hoon said, "I am grateful to the Doosan Yeongang Foundation, which is dedicated to social contribution projects to nurture future talents with the belief that education is the driving force of national development," and added, "The Gyeongnam Office of Education will continue to provide educational welfare so that economic difficulties do not block children's dreams and futures."
