Gwangju Police Send Couple to Prosecution for Drug Charges After Reporting Dating Violence

On the 25th, Gwangju Western Police Station announced that they had arrested a man in his 30s, Mr. A, on charges of special assault and violation of the Narcotics Control Act earlier this month, and sent him to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment.
The woman in her 20s, Ms. B, who was initially investigated as a victim of assault, was handed over to the prosecution without detention on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.
On the evening of the 4th, around 10 p.m., Mr. A suspected his girlfriend Ms. B of cheating at their home in Gwangsan-gu and assaulted her with a blunt weapon. As a result, Ms. B sustained serious injuries including fractures.
While investigating the assault case, the police discovered suspicious facts, and it was eventually reported that Ms. B admitted to using drugs.
It is known that they had used methamphetamine multiple times since July.
