Gokseong-gun Agricultural Specialties Attract Attention at International Agriculture Expo

[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Cha Jong-seon] On the 25th, it was announced that agricultural specialty products from Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, have been receiving great responses from visitors at the 2021 International Agricultural Expo, which opened on October 21 at the Jeollanam-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services.

Gokseong-gun is providing a photo zone by creating the Namdo Garden to promote the Simcheong Children's Festival along with the agricultural specialty product promotion and sales hall at this expo. They are also actively promoting the region by operating Gokseong-gun Day.

At the Gokseong-gun promotional sales hall, visitors can find 42 items from 9 companies, including representative agricultural products and processed goods such as taro, melon, Baeksemi rice, and roses. Additionally, comprehensive information about Gokseong-gun is available, including information on returning to farming and rural areas, and introductions to representative tourist attractions such as the Seomjin River Train Village.

Visitors have shown great interest in various processed products made using taro and melon, such as soju, Makgeolli, rice cake pies, and fermented tea, frequently visiting the Gokseong-gun promotional booth.

Gokseong-gun supports 10 organizations to attend the expo so that local farmers can learn about the latest agricultural technologies, future agricultural trends such as smart farms, and healing agriculture. Furthermore, on the 29th, a Baeksemi rice promotion event will be held at the expo as part of Gokseong-gun Day.

A Gokseong-gun official stated, “As this is the largest event in the agricultural sector, we will do our best to promote the excellence of our county’s agricultural specialty products and enhance their value.”
