Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Wins Order for 4 LNG-Powered PC Ships Worth 382.6 Billion KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Hyundai Heavy Industries Group's intermediate shipholding company Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering announced on the 25th that it has secured an order worth 382.6 billion KRW for four large liquefied natural gas (LNG) powered petroleum carriers (PC) from a Middle Eastern shipping company. The vessels ordered this time measure 239m in length, 44m in width, and 22m in height, and will be built at Hyundai Heavy Industries in Ulsan and delivered sequentially by the first half of 2024.
The company has so far secured orders for 61 LNG-powered vessels, the highest number worldwide. Among the 67 medium-to-large PC vessels over 40,000 tons ordered this year, it won about 60%, or 40 vessels.
