Jeju Agriculture and Rural 6th Industry Support Center Fosters and Discovers 'Made in Jeju'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] Lotte Tour Development announced on the 22nd that it has opened the 'Dream Gift Shop' at 'HAN Collection,' a K-fashion specialty shopping mall within Jeju Dream Tower Complex Resort, selling excellent products from Jeju's 6th industry and various Jeju specialty products.
The 6th industry refers to an industry that creates new added value through the convergence of the primary industry of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, the secondary industry of manufacturing and processing, and the tertiary industry of distribution, culture, experience, tourism, and services. As part of revitalizing the local economy, Lotte Tour Development signed a business agreement to establish a win-win partnership with the Jeju Agriculture and Rural 6th Industry Support Center in October 2019.
The Dream Gift Shop houses over 90 'Made in Jeju' products from 18 companies certified in the 6th industry, including specialty processed teas, food, cosmetics, and daily necessities. Representative brands include 'Uyeonmot,' 'Nyamnyam Jeju,' and 'Gosari Sup.'
The tea specialty brand 'Uyeonmot' offers six major types of tea such as green tea and white tea, and introduces new blended teas every month according to seasonal changes. 'Nyamnyam Jeju' started with carrot marmalade (carrot jam) created in 2015 to overcome the price collapse of Jeju carrots and now offers handmade jams and marmalades made from Jeju’s eco-friendly agricultural products like onions, citrus, and chestnut pumpkins. 'Gosari Sup' is a naturalistic children's skincare brand made from 100% plant-based ingredients grown in Jeju, excluding harmful chemical components.
In addition, visitors can find snacks such as pies, chocolates, jellies, and biscuits made from Jeju citrus, as well as daily necessities like natural soaps, kitchen detergents, and fabric softeners.
To commemorate the opening, the Dream Gift Shop is giving all customers who make a purchase, regardless of the amount, a 'Jeju On' mask pack containing extracts of fresh citrus, tangerines, turmeric, and lotus petals grown in Jeju. The event may end early if supplies run out.
