Trump, Whose Facebook and Twitter Accounts Were Closed, to Create His Own SNS
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Former U.S. President Donald Trump, who was permanently banned from major social networking services (SNS) such as Facebook and Twitter, is launching his own SNS.
According to foreign media including the AP News on the 20th (local time), former President Trump announced plans to launch the social media company he owns, Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), and the SNS operated by this company called Truth Social.
Former President Trump said he will grow TMTG and Truth Social as competitors to the big tech companies that banned him from SNS.
TMTG plans to start a beta service of Truth Social next month for "invited guests." Pre-orders are available on the Apple App Store. Additionally, a subscription-based VOD service led by Scott St. John, the executive producer of the popular U.S. audition program America's Got Talent, will also be offered. TMTG is expected to merge with the special purpose acquisition company DWAC and then go public.
